Pricing-Private Lessons
Book me for one on one or group instruction. Available for lessons focused on getting comfortable with your sewing machine, clothing alterations and mending, or hand sewing for ages 10 and up. I can accomodate up to 6 people for a group lesson in my location.

Sewing Foundations for Beginner's - Are you itching to learn to use a sewing machine, but you just don't have one to learn on? Do you have a sewing machine and need someone to help you get acquainted with it? I'm here to help!
In 3 basic lessons you will:
-
Learn the basics of using your sewing machine: what do you call the parts? How do you make a straight line? How do you create a bobbin? What is a bobbin? All this and more answered in your first session with me.

Make a tote bag! You will bring with you a yard of your chosen fabric, thread, and we will construct a tote bag together using a pattern and your blossoming sewing skills.

Finish the tote bag.

Sewing Foundations for Beginners - Make a Wrap Around Skirt Are you itching to learn to use a sewing machine, but you just don't have one to learn on? Do you have a sewing machine and need someone to help you get acquainted with it? I'm here to help!
In 3 - 4 basic lessons you will:

Learn the basics of using your sewing machine: what do you call the parts? How do you make a straight line? How do you create a bobbin? What is a bobbin? All this and more answered in your first session with me.

Begin the wrap around skirt! You will bring with your chosen fabric, prewashed and ready to go, and we will construct a wrap skirt together using a pattern and your blossoming sewing skills.

Finish the skirt. Additional skills learned will be how to use a pattern, how to finish seams without a serger, and how to do a rolled hem.

We will schedule ahead to measure you for the skirt so that you can purchase your supplies before the first lesson.

Starting at $450 for three 2.5 hour classes. If further lessons need to be added to complete the project you will be charged prior to the lessons outside the three package lessons. Additional lessons will be at the package rate of $60/hr.

Flexible schedule. Deposit of $75 due within a week of booking to secure date requested. Half of the remaining balance ($187.50) is due the day before the date of booking and the final half ($187.50) is due on the second lesson. Deposit comes out of the total cost of the course. Students must purchase their own fabric and thread. Appropriate for ages 16 and up.

Pattern Sewing for New to Intermediate Sewists - Make a The Sample Room's Hannah Pant For sewists who already have an understanding of how to use a sewing machine and want to get into some basic pattern sewing- learn to make the fabulous Hannah Pant by The Sample Room. These pants are constructed with a full to queen sized flat bed sheet or new cotton fabric, either of which you will provide for the lesson.
In 3 - 4 basic lessons you will:

Put together the digital printed pattern (if applicable) and learn how best to place pattern pieces on the fabric for maximum fabric usage.

Begin sewing the pants! You will bring with your chosen fabric, prewashed and ready to go, and we will construct the pants together. You will learn how to add pockets, finish seams, and do a double fold or rolled hem.

Finish the pants.

We will schedule ahead to measure you for the pants so that you can purchase your supplies before the first lesson.

Sergers 101 - Learn how to thread a serger, fine tune the differential feed, stitch lengths for different fabrics, and get comfortable with the serger. Sewing machine experience is required.

Focused around learning to use your sewing machine, clothing alterations and mending, upcycling clothing, and some pattern sewing.Unpackaged private lessons are $75 per hour. For every additional person add $40 per hour to rate. Limit 4 people per lesson. Lessons are minimum 2 hours with a 3 hour limit on session time.

50% total cost deposit due within a week of booking to secure date requested. Appropriate for ages 16 and up.
